awards at the 32nd Annual NAMM Technical Excellence & Creativity (TEC) Awards.
Presented at the 2017 NAMM Show in Anaheim, California on January 21, the
awards celebrated the best in pro audio and sound recording, with 180 nominees
vying for 31 technical and creative awards. Avid Pro Tools®, the industry-standard
digital audio workstation software, won the award for best Workstation
Technology/Recording Devices, while the portable, affordable Pro Tools | Dock
surface, won the award for best Audio Apps & Hardware/Peripherals for
Smartphones/Tablets.
Presented annually by the NAMM Foundation, the NAMM TEC Awards recognize the
individuals, companies and technical innovations behind the sound of recordings,
live performances, films, television, video games and other media. Nominees are
chosen by a panel of professionals and thought leaders from all areas of the audio
and sound production industry, and voting is open to prominent professional audio
and music industry organizations, including the Producers & Engineers Wing of the
Recording Academy and the Motion Picture Sound Editors (MPSE).
