Audio-Technica is showcased several of its new installation-specific microphone models for the first time in the UK at the Install Market Conference and Expo on 4 September. Alongside these were a selection of key audio and acoustic treatment products from Audio-Technica’s distributed brands, Allen & Heath and Vicoustic.
Among the highlights were Audio-Technica’s ATND971 Cardioid Condenser Boundary Network Microphone. Introduced earlier in 2014, the microphone bridges the gap between audio and IT as the first wired microphone that transmits audio and control data together over Audinate’s Dante network protocol. Dante has become a go-to method of networking for many audio professionals, using standard Internet protocols to distribute digital audio and control data with very low latency.
A simple Ethernet connection allows the ATND971 network microphone to communicate across an existing network of Dante-enabled devices and – with the microphone’s programmable user switch – control any of those devices at the push of a button. Audio-Technica’s ATND971 boundary mic features simple, inexpensive Ethernet connectivity, outstanding sound quality, a Red / Green LED status indicator and an integrated user switch to control such things as video camera pan / tilt, room lighting presets and much more.
ATCS-60 Conference System
Audio-Technica’s digital infrared wireless conference system, the ATCS-60, delivers an easy-to-use, modular solution for installers and users, with excellent signal security due to its infrared design. Wireless transceiver delegate mic units allow configuration flexibility and can be used in manual or automatic modes and with up to four channels for multi-lingual meetings where translation is required. Voting units and reach-extending transmitter / receivers can also be added to existing ATCS-60 systems, making it a remarkably cost-effective and scalable system.
Allen & Heath
A selection of Allen & Heath models is also on show at Install Market. With typically high-performing Allen & Heath preamps, 24-bit converters and fixed DSP on-board, the iDR-8 matrix mixer is frequently specified for use in demanding audio installations where ease of use and reliability are of paramount importance – it will appear alongside the company’s MixWizard4 19′ mixer, and PL-6 and PL-10 remote mix controllers.
Vicoustic
Visitors to Install Market will also get a chance to learn about Vicoustic’s range of acoustic treatment panels. Designed to provide flexible and elegant solutions to acoustic challenges faced by installers, Vicoustic’s range of wall and ceiling-mountable products are widely in educational establishments, offices, restaurants and hotels throughout the world.
