Three new Philips Strand Digital Wallracks, 24 x 2.5 kw, have been installed at the Springs Civic Theatre in Ekurhuleni, on Gauteng’s East Rand. Along with Longman LED parcans, the equipment has been tried and tested in the production Prison Without Steel Bars, Changing Times, and various school reviews recently.
The Philips Strand permanent installation dimming unit is convection cooled and compact, scalable to meet even complex needs for small to medium entertainment and architectural venues, such as a school classroom, restaurant, or a convention centre or performing arts facility, such as the Springs Civic Theatre.
Theatre stage manager Dawid van Eden says the gear has been a perfect system for the theatre. Dave Whitehouse of DWR Distributors concludes: “Philips Strand provided the most economical but reliable dimmers for this size theatre. We have known Dawie and Eduard Coetzee from Ekurhuleni Arts and Culture for many years now and it was a privilege to supply them with their upgrade.’
