The South African Roadies Association (SARA) will be hosting Africa’s fourth Live Event Technical & Production Conference (LETPC 2018) from the 17 to 19 May 2018 at the Sunnyside Park Hotel in Parktown, Johannesburg, the current home of the LETPC.

The primary objective of the conference is to host an annual gathering of the event, technical, production and education (training and skills development) sectors from across the country, the continent and the world. Attendees include African and international market leaders from across the sector, as well as government, sector education and training authorities among others.

Since inception, a number of specific goals and objectives have emerged:

  • To gather the technical and production and education sectors with international market leaders from across the sector, Government, SETA’s, suppliers and independent skills;
  • To agree on the implementation of production skills qualifications and standards in South Africa;
  • To discuss the enhancement of technical and production vocational training and education to formulating a sector plan for the future
  • To consider and validate the need for a technical and production sector skills needs analysis forecast;

The LETPC 2018 will feature a range of international keynote speakers from the United Kingdom, Netherlands, Germany, Kenya, Ghana. Also, a number of key stakeholders in the South African live events, technical and production sectors will unpack best practices across the industry. Topics such as health and safety, production, event management, and technical advances in the industry will address by the speakers and audience alike.
