MDG’s theONE™, the award-winning, touring dual haze and fog generator, has been
snapped up by Liverpool-based Adlib to strengthen its “complete package’ offering to
production managers and lighting designers.
No sooner had theONE™ atmospheric generator arrived, it immediately joined
American blues rock legend, Joe Bonamassa, as he toured the UK and Europe this
summer paying tribute to three of the legends of the British Blues, Eric Clapton, Jeff
Beck and Jimmy Page. Post tour, theONE™ will feature at various prestigious events
Adlib is involved in after the Summer Festival Season.
For Adlib’s Lighting & Video General Manager, Mike Docksey, theONE was the only
choice. He explains, “We felt it was the most suitable product on the market with a
good reputation to add to our armoury for large scale live events. As we constantly
grow our inventory and the scale of events which we undertake, this was a logical
step in further strengthening our position in the market place in terms of being able
to offer a complete package for LD’s and Production Managers.’
As well as seamlessly switching between haze and fog modes – with 100% duty
cycle – theONE is the first atmospheric generator with networking capabilities,
enabling control via DMX/RDM connector or RJ45 node. With Pathport embedded, it
is accessible via ACN, ART-Net, ETCNet 2 & 3 and SHOWNet protocols. Additionally,
the integral, external dual-position, adjustable fan, has its own dedicated control
channel. To adjust directional flow, the fan can be mounted above or below
haze/fog output.
MDG designed and constructed TheONE to be worldwide tour-ready, enclosing the
full product as well as its 20L fluid container and, uniquely, all known sizes of 9kg
(20 lb) CO2 or N2 gas bottle, within a single robust aluminium frame. The touring
cradle itself exceeds PLASA rigging standards and is sized to fit standard
trucks/containers.
TheONE is a truly global product being CE certified, CSA and UL approved. Uniquely,
it can automatically detect the universal voltage rating from 100-250 VAC, 50/60
Hz, single phase. It features an Automatic Purging System™ (APS™) and is
specially designed to give maximum, consecutive, non-stop hours of haze/fog
without interruption, via its Automatic Refill System™ (ARS™)
Docksey states, “theONE is a very efficient product. Its ability to produce anything
from a fine haze to a thick fog makes it an invaluable offering for a rental
company. The effects it creates are very impressive and the control it offers is
unprecedented. It’s a unique product that will be in constant use.’
He adds, “We’ve road-tested theONE with our techs and LDs quite extensively and,
though they are very new, we’ve found no issues with them. The reliability and
performance so far is excellent.’
