MJ Event Gear provided the full technical for Product of the Year 2015, as it has been doing in the past four years.
Product of the Year is the world’s largest consumer voted award for product innovation, taking place in 42 countries, and its purpose is to guide consumers to the best products in the market and to reward manufacturers for quality and innovation. The awards were held at Summer Place, in Hydepark, Johannesburg. MJ Event Gear were given full creativity rights to provide lighting for the outdoor area for this prestigious event.
Olebogeng Boinamo, lighting designer from MJ Event Gear created an upbeat show on an Avolites Tiger Touch II, incorporating Robin 600 LEDWash, Robe 300 E Spot and Robin 100 LEDBeams. The Tiger Touch II represents a combination of power and portability. This third generation console is packed with enough power for complex shows, yet small enough to fly in standard hold luggage. The console features SMPTE time-code support and a redesigned button layout to match the entire Titan Range.
The Robe Robin 300 E Spots is a neat punchy profile with large linear zoom, the Robin 100 LEDBeam is the ultimate effects lighting tool for the creation of various colour chases, while the Robin 600 LED Wash has a colour output ranging from gentle pastels to the richest saturation.
At MJ Event Gear all events are backed up with a strong team. This event was successful thanks to Boinamo, Jan van Boordt crew manager and AV operator, Joe Hatla sound engineer, Daniel Borane backline technician and Theo Rood, project manager of the event.
