British Broadcast Corporation (BBC) News for US and Canada yesterday reported that Scott Johnson, a drum technician, was killed when a stage collapsed ahead of a concert in Toronto, Canada. Canadian medical officials were reported saying that three others were injured during the collapse with one being deemed serious.
The collapse happened an hour before the gates were due to open for the concert, with queues already beginning to form outside. Some 40,000 people were expected to turn up for the sold-out gig.
UK rock band, through their Twitter handle @Radiohead, tweeted that the performance had been cancelled due to “unforeseen circumstances’.
