Multi-platinum producer David Bendeth and plug-in designer Boz Digital Labs have teamed up to introduce the David Bendeth Signature Series Compressor plugin, the +10db.
The +10db brings the sounds of rare, coveted, no-longer manufactured vintage hardware into the software realm. It is the first of its kind channel strip plugin, modelled after a highly sought-after compressor hardware unit. The producers didn’t just use the hardware unit for inspiration, but they dug in deep and made sure that it sounded just like the original.
A key part of Bendeth’s signature drum and vocal sound is a legendary British EQ / Compressor, a unit that the +10db is modeled after. This rare analog unit has never before been designed into a plugin. The +10db comes in with three plugins in one, the +10db Compressor, +10db Equaliser and +10db Channel Strip.
Along with capturing the sonic feel of this unique piece, the +10db also comes with 10 presets that were created by Bendeth. There were a couple of extra features added to the +10db, to make it even more powerful than the original hardware. One of the features is a ‘Dry Passthrough’ knob that makes parallel compression super easy, without having to set up extra buses.
The +10db give users the option of running compression over stereo tracks.
