The Slate Raven MTi and MTX multi-touch DAW controllers are now available in South Africa via local Slate Pro Audio distributors SEGMA.

Revolutionising the way audio engineers work in the studio, the Slate Raven series audio production consoles offer unprecedented control of all DAW parameters with a completely tactile and hands on approach with their large multi-touch displays and custom mixer skins that integrate with Avid’s Pro Tools and other digital audio workstation software.

All DAW parameters are easily accessible via the Raven mixer including multi-fader control, transport, pan, assignment of inserts and sends, metronome, punch in/out and locate, user definable keys and features a handy NAVPAD, a movable multifunction tool which can be used to scrub/shuttle and handle waveform and track zooming. Additionally, there is the option of using the standard DAW mixer skin or the Raven mixer skin, which is cosmetically different and styled after an analogue mixer. The control surface connects to a Mac or PC over USB, which uses the industry standard NeyFi protocol to communicate to the host.

The Raven MTi is a 27′ six-touch multitouch display with a 1920 x 1080 resolution. The MTX is the larger 46′ version that includes many more features such as an analogue control room section with multiple speaker outputs and input sources, talkback, multiple headphone send and cue options, smart phone and USB connectivity, a 7.1 module for surround sound mixing and mastering and analogue VU metering.

Watch out for the March/April issue of Pro Systems where we review the Slate Raven MTi in full.
