This time last year a Swiss-based manufacturer, Barix, announced its Soundscape audio distribution solution, which they’ll launch at ISE 2015.
Barix reports that the full solution features cloud-based content management, live status monitoring through the company’s SoundScape portal, and its new small-footprint, multi-format Exstreamer SoundScape IP audio players for location-based “media playout.’
The Swiss company states the solution is an “in-store radio’ system that is capable of providing integrated audio distribution, remote device management, contact scheduling, system monitoring, and multi-format audio playback capabilities with the ability to deliver targeted ad insertion.
Through the introduction of the complete Linux-based audio solution, users can navigate menus, skip songs, and change audio settings, as well as network settings, without having to connect to a central web-based SoundScape interface.
Additionally, they state Exstreamer SoundScape players provide users with enough internal memory and network resources to facilitate live streaming. The products also feature built-in, real-time clocks to ensure the players stream local content in scenarios in which a network is down.
