InfoComm International has announced session details for the InfoComm MEA 2012 Summit – an extensive programme of educational and networking opportunities to be hosted alongside the association’s 2012 MEA tradeshow in Dubai.
Representing the most far-reaching educational and conference programme ever organised by InfoComm in the Middle East and Africa region, the Summit includes industry conferences, InfoComm University™ classes, a CTS Prep course, show tours aimed at vertical-market applications, and a Roundtable networking event.
InfoComm MEA is once again co-located with GITEX, the region’s largest ITC trade event providing a large attendee base of end-user and facilities-manager attendees at InfoComm MEA. With this in mind, the Summit includes three half-day Conferences aimed at specific industries. In particular, these will address hospitality (15 October), the IT industry (16 October), and the education sector (17 October).
The Hospitality and Education Conferences will each be followed by orientation tours of the show floor, in which InfoComm staff will lead delegates directly to technologies and demonstrations that are applicable to their markets.
Also available on 15.16 and 17 October is an InfoComm University Primer Program – a one-hour session led by experienced Staff Instructor Rod Brown, CTS-D, CTS-I, who will discuss the various educational opportunities InfoComm provides, including the globally recognized CTS certification.
From 14-16 October, Rod Brown will also lead a 3-day CTS Prep Course, designed to assist those InfoComm MEA 2012 attendees who wish to obtain CTS certification – guiding attendees on important AV principles and test-taking strategies.
Other InfoComm University content during the show will be a mixture of staff-led sessions and seminars given by industry professionals. Topics covered will include: Distributed Speaker Systems, Multi-Image Projection Techniques, Digital AV Systems for the Digital Future, Operation of DisplayPort and Thunderbolt, and Best Practices for AV Systems Commissioning.
All Summit courses are free of charge for InfoComm MEA attendees but registration is required. You may register online at www.infocomm-mea.com. The three day CTS Prep Course tuition is USD1000 for InfoComm members and USD1500 for non-members. Online registration is available at http://store.infocomm.org/Public_en/Default.aspx by selecting the Onsite Course category.
Finally, an InfoComm Roundtable networking event will be held on the afternoon of October 14. Open to InfoComm members and other AV industry professionals at the invitation of members, the Roundtable will feature a keynote presentation on the recently released InfoComm Global Market Definition & Strategy Study (MDSS), with special emphasis on research findings and trends for the AV products and services market in the Middle East. For more information about the Roundtable please contact jseller@infocomm.org.
Terry Friesenborg, Senior Vice President of International Development for InfoComm International, comments: “The Middle East AV systems market has a projected compound annual growth rate of over 15%, according to our recent MDSS market study, making it an exciting location for our industry. This year we are pleased to present our most extensive education and networking program to date.
“The broad scope and tailored content of the program are the result of extensive consultation with regional market players, and as we expect demand for places at our events to be high, we encourage potential attendees to pre-register for the courses of their choice as soon as possible.’
