Prosound held a Sound School during the week of May 7, at their training centre in Hillfox. The course, put together and supervised by highly experienced theatre and live sound maestro, Mr Mark Malherbe, is the perfect introduction to sound engineering, live band set up and mixing.

Perfect for those members of churches, schools and bands thrust into the position of Sound Guy because of their love of music, and they’ve got a good hi-fi.

Students could choose between signing up for the day course or the night course, with the final day practical assignment taking place on Saturday 12 May. They’ll get to experience first-hand what it takes to get a band set up and gig ready. Stage plans need to be adhered to, mics need to be placed, the band needs to sound good, and at the end of it all, cables need to get rolled.

Lee Brune, course leader and sound aficionado tells us that  Sound School May 2018 has been a resounding success with both the day and night classes being fully signed up. Lee was also especially happy to welcome the students from the Tshwane University of Technology, who attended the daytime lectures.  Kudos to Koketso Ntoampe, for making this happen. We hope everyone enjoyed their time at Prosound.

Plans for the next edition of Sound School are in place, and this time we’re taking it on the road. Details of dates and locations will be posted when confirmed.
