Barco LiveDots, a Barco company, has unveiled a budget-friendly family of LED displays specifically designed for branding, advertisement and sports applications. The brand-new V-series consists of two models: the V6 – a 6mm indoor SMD LED display – and the V10 – a 10mm outdoor SMD LED display. Barco showcased the new V-series at Sign2Com, held from 9 to 11 September in Belgium. The also announced that both models are available for sale immediately.

The X-series is our premium product line, offering unprecedented image quality; the C-series is our mid-range offering, providing Barco image quality at an attractive price for both rental and permanent installations; while the T-series is dedicated to 24/7 operation for branding and advertising applications where total cost of ownership is key,’ says Carl Rijsbrack, CMO of Barco LiveDots. “And with the introduction of the V-series, we have a solution for customers looking for cost-effective LED displays that offer an outstanding performance and reliability.’

Building on Barco’s experience with high-end LED technology, the V-series is supported by the new and state-of-the-art DV-100 LED image processor, equipped with the high-performance Athena scaler for superior image quality and performance. Designed for full flexibility, the DV-100 also supports new standards like 3G SDI, HDMI and DisplayPort, next to supporting standard inputs up to (dual) HD-SDI.

The V-series is also managed and controlled by the dedicated V-series Toolset (VTS), a direct derivative of the top-of-the-line Director Toolset. The VTS comes with an intuitive interface for easy display management and set up. Advanced options such as brightness, gamma and color temperature control and the display configuration tools make the V-series an excellent choice for basic LED display applications.

The series consists of the V6 and V10 with the former being a tile-based indoor LED display equipped with 6mm pixel pitch SMD LEDs. It features the latest indoor LED technology with black package LEDs and offers very dark black levels with an extremely high contrast compared to other products in its class. It’s very wide viewing angle is another unique characteristic that makes the V6 excel in image quality.

The second new product in the series, the V10, is a 10mm pixel pitch LED display designed for outdoor use. Just like all other Barco outdoor LED displays, it has successfully passed Barco’s extensive outdoor testing program which exceeds standard IP rating tests. Thanks to its modular design, the V10 can easily be integrated. It also features a unique mechanical design, which improves the contrast levels and contrast/brightness ratio.
