Unfazed Productions were appointed by ESP AFRIKA to light up the front of the City Hall Cape Town, for the Cape Town “Xmas Lights Switch On’. Equipment used was as follows: MA OnPC lighting Desk with Fader wing, 24 x Robe 100 LED Beams, 24 x Versa light High Power LED PARS, 8 x Robe 700 Wash, 4 x Robe 700 Spot, 4 x Martin Mac 600 LED, 12 x Robe Led Force 7’s.
“The Brief was for the building to be vibrant and full of colour and react to the main stage where musical acts such as Hugh Masekela, Mi Casa and others were performing. The big switch on was @ 9pm, and then the fun began!! The event was very successful with a lot of positive comments, even though we had gale force winds on the set-up which stopped us from programming the lights the night before,’ says Jean-Pierre Willson of Unfazed Productions. “You know it’s bad when a Robe 100 on the ground is blown over!! So we had to programme through the day, and subtly check positions, and focus as the sun went down so as not to reveal the building!! Thanks must go to the DWR team who got my new desk to me ASAP, and in time for this event. Thanks to the Unfazed team for a great effort on this one, wind and all,’ concludes Willson.
