A new addition to Audio-Technica’s flagship 50 Series studio microphone range – the
AT5047 cardioid condenser model – was unveiled at Prolight+Sound 2017. The show
also featured new product from Audio-Technica distributed brand Apart Audio in the
form of the REVAMP8250 eight-channel power amplifier, and the latest from Allen &
Heath and Artnovion.

Based on the distinctive four rectangular diaphragm design of the AT5040, the
AT5047 is a cardioid condenser with a transformer-coupled output that delivers a
noticeably smooth sonic character and ensures high SPL handling without the risk of
overloading mic preamps or console inputs. With its ability to cope with wide
variances in dynamic range, the new model is designed for outstanding
performance on everything from brushed snare drums to powerful vocals, guitar
amps to brass instruments.

Supplied in a hard-shell carry case with die-cut foam compartments, the AT5047
has a recommended retail price of £3499 / €3999 inc VAT and will be available in
Europe from summer 2017.

The new REVAMP8250 eight-channel, bridgeable power amplifier is designed to be
the most versatile class-D model in Apart’s line-up. Combined with a pre-amplifier
or matrix, the REVAMP8250 can be used to create up to eight zones in mono, four in
stereo or even four bridged mono/two bridged stereo. The amplifier has an
intelligent variable speed cooling fan, input overload LED on the rear and an
amplifier clip indicator on its front panel.

The Cornish mixer manufacturer’s compact dLive C Class digital mixers make their
Prolight + Sound debut at this year’s event. Founded on XCVI (the same 96kHz
FPGA core which drives Allen & Heath’s flagship dLive S Class mixers) and also
sharing the DEEP processing architecture, dLive C Class mixers feature class-
leading compressors and processing emulations embedded directly within the inputs
and mix channels. The new range includes the first 19′ rack mountable dLive
surface, the ultra-compact C1500.

There are 3 new MixRacks in the series – CDM32, CDM48 and CDM64 and three new
control Surfaces, the 19′ rack mountable C1500, C2500 and twin screen C3500. The
MixRacks house the XCVI Core, providing capacity for 128 inputs with full
processing and 16 dedicated stereo FX returns, plus a fully configurable 64 mix bus
architecture, with full processing on all mix channels. Each surface and rack has a
128 channel I/O port, supported by a wide array of networking cards, including
Dante, Waves, MADI, fibreACE optical and more. dLive C Class is also compatible
with S Class hardware, and the ME personal mixing system and supported by a full
ecosystem of apps, Director software, and accessories.

Distributed by Audio-Technica in the UK since the beginning of 2017, Portugal’s
Artnovion will be showcasing its latest absorption, bass trap and diffusion products,
as well as a comprehensive range of insulation solutions for pro audio, residential
and architectural applications. Ranging from wood and fabric tiles to acoustic doors
and anti-vibration wall and floor solutions, the Artnovion range is distinguished by a
strong design language created by company founder Jorge Castro.
