Next year’s Prolight + Sound will be of greater interest than ever before to trainees
and university and vocational-school students. For the first time, there will be a
special Trainee Day at the International Fair of Technologies and Services for
Entertainment, Integrated Systems and Creation on Tuesday, 5 April 2016. “We
want to give companies the chance to introduce themselves to enthusiastic young
professionals and make personal contacts. At the same time, newcomers to the
sector can gain an overview of training scenarios and career opportunities in the
individual companies and increase their knowledge of the event industry’, says
Prolight + Sound Director Michael Biwer.

The fair will offer the target group an attractive programme with lectures, guided
tours and other interesting activities being planned for the Trainee Day. Effective
matchmaking sessions will bring companies and educational institutes together with
suitable candidates. On the same day, the speakers of the Prolight + Sound
Conference and Eventplaza Conference will also put the focus on questions and
solutions for promoting young professionals in the event sector. Additionally, the
Education + Associations area will be a central point where visitors can go to find
out about universities of applied science and other educational institutes.

There will be reduced admission prices for trainees and university and vocational-
school students, as well as groups of 25 or more people, at Prolight + Sound 2016.
Moreover, there is a limited contingent of free admission-ticket vouchers for
vocational-school classes and students. Inquiries in this connection and further

The Trainee Day is part of a new concept with numerous innovations and
developments for the fair. Thus, the move to the eastern section of Frankfurt Fair
and Exhibition Centre creates the room required for further growth in the range of
product groups and themes covered, and gives exhibitors the chance to position
their products and services more exactly in six exhibition halls and thus reach their
target groups more effectively than ever before. The change in the sequence of
days to Tuesday to Friday underscores the business orientation of the event as a
trade fair and paves the way for an all-out expansion of the programme of events
on all four days. Moreover, new special-show areas and more opportunities for
making outdoor presentations are in planning.

Meanwhile, the new Prolight + Sound concept is showing the first signs of success.
With around seven months still to go before the fair begins, numerous key players
from all parts of the event sector have declared their intention to exhibit. The
number of exhibitor registrations received is even higher than at this time last year.
Thus, following this year’s record fair, the indications are that Prolight + Sound
2016 will be even bigger.
